Welcome to Our Website

Due to the misinterpretation in Uganda of certain words used throughout our web site, the Trustees are in the process of updating the information to ensure that everybody has a clear understanding of the role our charity plays in helping with the continuing development of the Halcyon High School and Teso Primary School.  The two schools continue to provide quality education to all their pupils.

DONATIONS

Halcyon High School
is playing a major role in the area providing quality education for many children in a secure and caring environment.  It has earned a local reputation for student discipline and smartness.

Fund Raising
Jim Stirland  ........  Fund-raising for a project of this size by a small charity is quite difficult, so we developed an unusual method.  In 2000 when I first purchased the land for Halcyon School, I had been a mining engineer for 37 years.  Putting to one side my mining consultancy work, we put into place a scheme to use my D.I.Y. skills to raise funds.  Initially, I invited people at my local church to allow me to do jobs for them, they were happy to donate the labour costs to the school building fund.  My wife produced one small leaflet explaining what we were doing and the jobs came pouring in, they are still flowing almost 8 years later.  Unfortunately, due to a deteriorating spinal problem, I have been forced to cut down my physical work which has had a knock on effect to the development of the school building programme.  Over 90% of the total costs for building have come through the "Another Pair of Hands" initiative.  In order to ensure that this phase of the project is completed, we are asking for your generous donations.

All donations given to the Halcyon Link Trust go directly to the development of the schools nothing is taken out for administration, transport or anything else.
